Testimonies From Our Sisters’!

I joined AΩE my freshman fall semester as an out-of-state student looking to make friends and grow professionally. After attending their first interest meeting and seeing the amazing sisterhood, I knew that I had to join.

AΩE has provided me with many leadership and professional development opportunities. I have been able to grow as a leader, professional, and friend throughout my time. Most importantly, AΩE has provided me with my closest friends and life long community.

My friends Samantha and Lauren, who were already sisters, encouraged me to go to an A.O.E. info night. I immediately loved how welcoming and friendly everyone was and felt like I had found a community in which I could thrive. Since joining A.O.E., I have met so many wonderful people and made lifelong friendships!!" — Sophie Lewis

“I joined A.O.E. in my second semester at NC State because I wasn't sure I had a place in engineering. From the moment I finished info night, I knew that wasn't true. Throughout professional and academic events, I am more confident in myself and my abilities as a women in STEM. A.O.E. has given me such an amazing support system and some of the best friends I could ever ask for. “I was one of 3 people from my high school to go to NCSU, and those two people were already very close. I was worried about being so far from home and not having a good support system to lean back on, so I sought out some organizations that I thought would fill that gap. I found AΩE through another group that I tried out and fell in love! The smiles and affirmations that I received from the recruitment chairs during my first interaction was enough to solidify that AΩΕ was where my people were. I went to almost every single recruitment event that semester, and tried my best to make sure they knew my name! I dragged my best friend from elementary school, Abbey with me and I’m so glad that we could experience such a wonderful, empowering, and warm environment together before she graduated. I’ve been lucky enough to hold several committee chairs and even an executive board position, which I would never have been able to do without the support of my sisters. I will always be thankful for my Gamma girls 💙” — Anna-Kate Self
